Stoppt die Robbenjagd in Kanada und Namibia

Seit den 50 Jahren werden auf der ganzen Welt Robben für ihre Pelz geschlachtet.

Die Anstrengungen und Maßnahmen von engagierten Einzelpersonen und Organisationen gegen die jährliche Tötung der Sattelrobben haben eine Geschichte von über 50 Jahren. Obwohl Strategien erörtert wurden, stritten und veränderte im Laufe der Jahre von den verschiedenen Gruppen und Einzelpersonen in der Opposition beteiligt sind, viel von der ursprünglichen Strategie bleibt die gleiche, und es ist kein Geheimnis.

Dear Prime Minister Harper,

I do not want products from Canada's cruel commercial seal hunt. There is no scientific or ethical argument that can support the shooting, clubbing and skinning of defenseless seal pups.

Challenging my right to say 'no' is not acceptable — it is a direct attack on my values and the democratic principles of my country. Denying the facts and challenging the right of other countries to ban seal products may further tarnish Canada's international reputation.

Rather than wasting money and resources on an unethical, dying industry, sealers should be provided with alternatives that do not involve cruelty, and Canada's wild seals should be protected and celebrated as part of what makes Canada so beautiful.

Please end this cruel slaughter and protect wild seals.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,



i am shocked that the Namibian government is promoting the brutal, senseless slaughter of Cape fur seal pups and bulls. The pups are so young they are still nursing! I have seen the sickening images of this horrifying massacre on YouTube and have forwarded this information to everyone I know. These seals are dying due to starvation - a result of Namibia's reckless over-fishing. To massacre these seals, on top of causing their starvation is abominable. This population is now in jeopardy. South Africa stopped killing seals years ago. Why does Namibia remain in the Dark Ages? You have an obligation to protect the Cape fur seal species. I urge you to stop this slaughter at once. I will not travel to Namibia, nor will I purchase Namibian products until the Cape fur seal killing is banned forever.
